The Lake
The lake has a surface area of 25 acres and is 20 ft. deep at its lowest point. The Trust property surrounding the lake extends 1.1 miles across by .58 miles wide covering an area of 368 acres. Most of the terrain is densely wooded. The lake is fed by artesian springs which also feed the clear rock-lined wading pool near the Lodge. The lake is home to a variety of fish such as bluegill, sunfish, catfish, crappie and bass.
The Watson Family
Grand Prairie, Texas USA is the original home of the Leroy A. Watson Family. On January 5, 1943, the late Leroy A. Watson, originally of Spanish Fork, Utah, and Mona Killough of Austin, Texas were sealed in the Mesa Arizona Temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. The couple were favored with 10 children: Leroy Jr. (Lee), Linda, Carol, Keith, Alice, Mary, Walter, Laura, Jane and Nancy. The property has been owned by the Watson family since 1993 and is held in The Leroy Watson Family Revocable Living Trust. It is known as Watson Lake. Returning guests may know it by the earlier informal name Legacy Lake. The lake and its amenities are available seasonally and by appointment to youth camps and related groups with Christian standards. Watson Lake is private and is not open to the public. Reservations are welcome from returning groups and from groups referred to us.
